■Development background
In recent years, cyber attacks have become increasingly sophisticated and diverse, making the implementation of a Web Application Firewall (WAF) an essential part of corporate security measures. While many companies have implemented AWS WAF in their Amazon Web Services (AWS) environments, many companies are unable to continue using AWS WAF due to a lack of dedicated security personnel or an inability to allocate sufficient resources to operations, making it difficult to handle the complex operational tasks.
In particular, for attacks that cannot be prevented by rules (signatures) alone, it is recognized that registering malicious IP addresses on a blocklist and blocking them is effective, but many companies are unable to make full use of this method due to the burden of manual work.
With this in mind, we have developed a new plan, the "WafCharm Lite Plan," specifically designed for AWS environments. The "WafCharm Lite Plan" is a new plan offered through AWS Marketplace for companies that want to reduce the workload of managing AWS WAF block lists.
Our "WafCharm" is a service that supports WAFs on major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, and can automate WAF operations by applying optimal rules, automatically operating block lists, and visualizing detection status via a dashboard.
The WafCharm Lite Plan is a WafCharm feature that specializes in automated blocklist operation, making it easier to deploy and operate in AWS environments. It automatically detects and registers malicious IP addresses, even against attacks that traditional regular expression-based WAF rules cannot prevent, providing continuous, highly accurate defense. By automating blocklist operation, which previously required manual handling, it frees personnel from tedious manual tasks and significantly reduces the burden of AWS WAF operation.
There are no initial costs, and the service uses a pay-as-you-go system based on the number of requests. It starts at approximately 46,000 yen per month (*1), making it ideal for companies that want to strengthen their AWS WAF operations while keeping costs down.
In addition, usage fees are billed together with other AWS services, eliminating the hassle of billing. The number of requests and usage fees can be easily checked from the AWS management screen, making cost management easy.

■ Main features of the "WafCharm Lite Plan"
Feature 1: Signature rematching function automatically blocks unauthorized access IPs
Utilizing AWS WAF detection logs and the vast amount of detection data accumulated by "Shadankun" Cloud-based WAF with the largest market share in Japan (*2), the system detects suspicious requests by re-matching them with hundreds of signatures and automatically adds malicious IP addresses to a block list. This enables the automatic operation of highly accurate block lists, significantly improving the operational efficiency of AWS WAF.

Feature 2: Visualize detection status with monthly reports
You can check the detection status for each rule in a monthly report. By visualizing the defense status, you can quantitatively understand the threats you are facing and the effectiveness of your current countermeasures.

Feature 3: Peace of mind with Japanese email support
Even if a false positive occurs, you can consult with us via email support in Japanese about the details of the detection and how to respond.Since you can receive prompt support in the event of a problem, even companies without dedicated security personnel can operate AWS WAF with peace of mind.
