Cyber Security Cloud, Inc. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President and CEO: Toshihiro Koike; hereinafter referred to as "the Company"), a global security manufacturer, held a special lecture on Friday, September 26, 2025, by its Representative Director, CTO Yoji Watanabe, to students of the Department of Information Science, Faculty of Science and Technology, Meiji University, his alma mater, as part of its educational and social contribution activity, "Career Discovery Project."
This was the fourth off-site lecture for this project, and was attended by approximately 100 students from the Department of Information Science, Faculty of Science and Technology, Meiji University.
Currently, the cybersecurity industry is facing a major shortage of human resources, with a projected shortfall of approximately 193,000 people* by 2030. In particular, the quantitative and qualitative shortage of security personnel at the management and operational levels is seen as a problem, and there is a strong demand for securing human resources capable of working on security measures.

Against this backdrop, in order to create the security talent of the future, we launched the "Creating the Future of the Cybersecurity Industry! Career Discovery Project" in November 2022. In addition to providing lectures for students with the aim of cultivating security talent, this project also works to raise awareness of "cyber literacy" among young people to prevent them from unexpectedly becoming victims or perpetrators of cybercrime.

In his lecture at Meiji University, Watanabe discussed the theme of "Engineering Careers in the Era of Generative AI," discussing the knowledge and skills that students should acquire for the future, while drawing on his own career experiences and practical experience in the industry.

1. Career path and challenges
After graduating from the Department of Information Science, he moved from software development to the security field, and is currently active as the representative director of our company, which operates globally.
-Introducing the process of deepening his expertise, including the development of video distribution systems and the shift to security using machine learning.
2. Career Outlook in the Era of Generative AI
- While simple tasks will be replaced by AI, it is pointed out that human resources with expertise and unique strengths will become increasingly valuable in the future.
-Introduces the situation where AI-based recruitment screening is becoming more common in the United States, and where there is also a growing demand for engineers with AI skills in Japan due to a shortage of talent in the technology field.
3. The importance of knowledge and ability
- He emphasized that the ability to ask good questions and the ability to distinguish between facts and interpretations are essential for building a career.
He said that it is necessary to acquire both deep knowledge in a specialized field (domain knowledge) and broad knowledge to complement it.

Going forward, we will continue to communicate the current state of cyber attacks, the future prospects of the industry, and working styles to students and other next-generation talent, thereby contributing to the creation of future security talent.
