[Event Report] Creating the security talent of the future! The 4th installment of the "Creating the future of the cybersecurity industry! Career Discovery Project" was held at Yamaguchi Shoin Gakuen School Corporation's Shoin High School.


Cyber Security Cloud, Inc. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Toshihiro Koike; hereinafter referred to as "the Company"), a global security manufacturer, held an online lecture at Yamaguchi Shoin Gakuen School Corporation's Shoin High School on Monday, September 9, 2024 as part of the "Creating the Future of the Cyber Security Industry! Career Discovery Project" initiative to address the talent shortage in the cyber security industry.

The shortage of human resources is a major issue in the cybersecurity industry, and it is expected that there will be a shortage of approximately 193,000 people (※) by 2030. In particular, the quantitative and qualitative shortage of security personnel at the management and practical levels is a problem, and there is a need to secure human resources who can work on security measures. In response to this background, we launched the "Creating the Future of the Cybersecurity Industry! Career Discovery Project" in November 2022 in order to create future security personnel. The project not only provides lectures for students to create security personnel, but also aims to improve cyber literacy so that young people do not unexpectedly become victims or perpetrators of cybercrime.

This was the fourth time the project was held, and a lecture was held at Shoin High School, a school corporation run by Yamaguchi Shoin Gakuen, on the theme of "Learn about cyber attacks that are actually close to us." Approximately 30 people from elementary school to high school students participated from a total of six locations: Machida, Kawasaki, Amagasaki, Shonandai, Kisarazu, and Morioka.

■ Lectures on location: "Learn about cyber attacks that are actually around us"
In this lecture, students learned about various security risks and countermeasures associated with the use of the Internet and SNS. In particular, students who use smartphones on a daily basis were given an emphasis on the importance of passwords, precautions to take when using SNS, and website tampering. At the end of the lecture, specific measures to deal with security risks were also mentioned.

Many of the people who attended the lecture said that they reused passwords, and asked questions such as how to set secure passwords in practice.

Going forward, we will continue to focus on activities to spread knowledge of appropriate security measures among students and other next-generation career talent.
In particular, we will actively disseminate concrete measures that are useful in everyday life, such as password management and risk reduction measures for using social media, in order to raise security awareness.
In addition, through these on-site lectures, we will continue to provide opportunities for more people to deepen their understanding of the threat of cyber attacks and how to deal with them, as well as to increase interest in the information security industry and contribute to the development of human resources who will be active in this field in the future.
